Jesse Stewart: rare percussion instruments, collaboration using motion-controlled gongs that attendees can play remotely by moving in front of their webcam, English

Available for In Person Events

Availability follows:

  1. I will play original compositions and improvisations on a variety of rare and unusual percussion instruments from around the world including handpans, wood flutes, hand drums, etc. It is difficult for me to situate this music in a particular genre or style. The style is life.

  2. I will intersperse musical pieces with a discussion of the instruments, many of which have an interesting backstory.

  3. I am interested in playing music with--not just for--people in care using a system of motion-controlled, mechanically-activated gongs that concert attendees will be able to play remotely just by moving in front of their webcam. Using this system, we will be able to co-create music with one another in real time.
